Vein News

Vein Ultrasound Canberra, Wollongong & Gregory Hills

AVC uses state-of-the-art Doppler/Duplex ultrasound for vein diagnosis and vein procedures.
There is onsite Doppler ultrasound at Gregory Hills, Wollongong and Canberra which means you can often have your scan and see a phlebologist (vein specialist) on the same day.
AVC’s dedicated vascular technicians will scan for all arterial disease (narrowing of abdominal, legs, neck vessels, kidney vessels, small bowel and large bowel).
The only organ we do not perform ultrasound on is the heart, which is usually performed by a cardiologist.
Scans for venous conditions are bulk-billed for pensioners in all locations except Canberra and others pay a gap fee, usually less than $100.
Scans for arterial conditions are bulk-billed for all patients. Arterial scans are not performed in Canberra.
Here is a link for your GP to refer to Art of Vein. To find out more about ultrasound v Doppler ultrasound click here.

Note: You do not need to see the vascular specialist first to have a vascular scan in our labs, but you will need a referral from your GP.
That will save you a second consult fee.
